My favourite muse, the anemone meets the Beatles. I’m continuing with playful, joyful innocence with this collage series. The Beatles photo strip inspired me and with further research discovered that their jam sessions were often called, let’s write a swimming pool. It’s known that the some HELP! was created in one of these sessions.

Though I've always played the role of the recipient, I never truly embraced it until now. Through a transformative gong meditation and an insightful intuitive reading, I've discovered the art of receiving in every facet of life. These experiences have illuminated my path, helping me shed the self-doubt rooted in childhood traumas. Beneath the layers of this collage lie years of negative self-talk and doubt, hindering my ability to accept. But now, those barriers have been shattered, paving the way for a future brimming with positivity and endless possibilities!

The creation of Inner Circle began with the dynamic leaves of my niece’s plant. I just had to photograph them and use them within a collage. The leaf details are stunning and my vision was to create a mid century modern space hidden within them. Like peering through a jungle discovering a small setting within. Cut circles create the backdrop like wallpaper and parquet flooring. As always, unexpected joy awaits.

I'm captivated by attention to detail, whether it's the perfect stitching, pleating, or tailoring in fashion or the impeccable curation of items on a table setting. To me, the anemone flower is nature's embodiment of this attention to detail. The soft petals gracefully overlapping one another, the contrast of the indigo center against the surrounding ivory shades—it's a marvel of Mother Nature. That's why it became my favorite flower, and I often incorporate anemones into my collages.

Now, the swans—my playful, unexpected addition to this series. They share a certain grace and delicacy with the flower but also possess a balance of form and strength. My Anemone Swan Collection embodies this feminine side of me—an aspiration to be strong yet delicate in approach, to exude kindness, love, and grace.

Rumination—deep, thoughtful contemplation, looking back over time. I often find myself reflecting, particularly on my younger self, at the age of 5. Oh, how I loved being 5! It was a time of true freedom, playfulness, and innocence. Looking back now, my childhood wasn't easy, but back then, I thought it was normal. In hindsight, it was anything but.

Around the age of 5 or 6, I began feeling suspicions and a sense of mistrust, even though I was far too young to grasp my family's complex dynamics. As an adult, having navigated the complexities of life, I yearn to return to that age, to be that 5-year-old girl filled with innocence, creativity, and the sparkle of a whole life ahead.

I've always had a soft spot for donkeys. Growing up in the countryside, surrounded by farms and cornfields, cows and horses might have scared me a bit, but donkeys felt different—gentle, quiet, and warm.

There's something about the softness of a donkey and their adorable appearance that draws me in.

When I was creating the collage, "Oh, Jenny," I stumbled upon the perfect image of a donkey, and the story just flowed. A meadow bursting with flowers, exuding softness and gentleness. Playful mushrooms adding a whimsical touch. And then, the unexpected—a bed. I adore incorporating the unexpected into all my designs, be it in interiors or illustrations, and the bed served that purpose perfectly. Picture a donkey seeking refuge on a pink canopy bed—utterly unexpected. That's when my vision truly came to life.
